Cavalia

The hospital very kindly provided a few of us volunteers with tickets to attend 'Cavalia'.

Performed under a Middle Eastern style Big Top this entertainment contains dancing horses, dare devil horse riding, acrobats and trapeze artists. The performance is both daring and entrancing enlivened by skilful lighting and a fascinating ever changing backdrop.

Two hours of family friendly entertainment.

  1. I should not be so cynical but was it few remaining tickets given to the hospital or to get bums on seats?

    1. Andrew, the hospital regularly receives a number of complimentary theatre and concert tickets. I've no doubt this offer is a mix of altruism and encouraging bums on seats with the further hope that word of mouth will lead to other paid customers. The hospital invites paid staff interested in attending to apply for tickets through a lottery but also offers some directly to the volunteers without us having to apply. I imagine some tickets also go to the hospital's key business and donor partners. In my ten years there I've been offered tickets about five times. Apart from Cavalia the only other time I have benefited was to see Mary Poppins.
